Referrals of inquiries about pirate sites continue to be included in the new «Counterfeiting and Piracy Watch List» (“Counterfeit and Piracy Watch List”) of the European Commission and LaLiga has pointed out what its main threats are.
Observing the public document in which LaLiga has sent to the European Commission to express how its audiovisual rights are violated, several pirate IPTV applications are cited.
LaLiga stars
Mainly, the focus is on Newplay IPTV for its success in Spain, where it has been downloaded more than 900,000 times from our country through Google Play during the past 2021. Beyond its main functionality is to load M3U playlists, which could also be used in IPTV legal, LaLiga points out that there are even YouTube tutorials that provide assistance on how to load these pirate links.
Among LaLiga’s own tools and if these arguments are accepted to include these applications in the official list of the European Commission after the deadline, for which it should be considered that the main use is illicit, these are all the IPTV apps pirate whose days are numbered.
“The fact that these types of applications are available on the distribution platforms of the operating systems, especially those of Android and iOS, severely aggravates the situation considering the billions of users in the world that use mobile devices with said operating systems. Therefore, it is strictly necessary that the aforementioned distribution platforms support the owners and holders of rights in this problem, by eliminating illegal reproductive applications from their ecosystems.
These IPTV applications are not the only ones that are indicated by LaLiga. There are other alternative services that also provide free football signals that are pirated.
